Events Description

The Tileyard Summer Music Camp is a 10-day intensive and highly practical songwriting and music industry camp, held at Tileyard Studios London, for commercial songwriters, producers and entertainment entrepreneurs.

At the camp you will be taught by and collaborate with professional songwriters, producers, artists, and industry entrepreneurs based at Tileyard Studios.

Tileyard Studios is the largest professional music community in Europe home to 82 recording studios and 120 music and entertainment businesses including producer songwriters Martyn Ware, Jon Kelly, Paul Whalley, Michael Angelo, Sean Hargreaves, Drew Masters, Goetz Botzenhardt, Nikolaj Bjerre, Emma Stakes, Marli Harwood, Notting Hill Music, Maverick, Marathon Artists, PLATOON and many more.

Week one courses include:

  • Music industry landscape, dynamics and stakeholders
  • Inside the hybrid label, publisher, management company
  • Copyright, royalties, collection and the future of rights
  • Contracts for recording, publishing and management deals
  • The development of contemporary popular music in c20 / c21
  • DAW production skills 1: protools and logic
  • Songwriting and arrangement fundamentals
  • Lyric and creative writing workshop
  • Vocal development and technique
  • A two day songwriting camp
  • Friday playback session and party

Week two courses include:

  • Entertainment marketing concepts, tools and techniques
  • Campaign and creative project management
  • New media and digital systems for music and entertainment
  • Digital marketing, SEO and strategic planning for campaigns
  • PR and radio support
  • Live event management, planning and marketing
  • DAW Production skills 2: protocols and logic
  • Songwriting and arrangement advanced skills
  • Vocal development and techniques part 2
  • A two day songwriting camp

The Language and Music for Life (LMFL) is a specialised course by world-renowned faculty for Advanced level students (17+ years old) or professionals.

The course takes place at the Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini in Florence, Italy. The conservatoire has two buildings:

  • A central administrative building in the centre of the old town at Piazza delle Belle Arti 2 50122
  • A second building, Villa Favard, in Rovezzano in the North-East of Florence at Via di Rocca Tedalda 451 (see map)

Please note: all teaching takes place at Villa Favard

We welcome students from +17 years old and upwards. We also welcome younger advanced students accompanied by at least one parent. All students must be advanced level in at least one discipline; other choices can be at lower level.

Now in its 22nd year, the Ceòlas summer school is a proven success. Students come from across the world to the school, held annually in July in Dalabrog, South Uist, to experience traditional music and dance in a community setting.

Expert tuition in piping, fiddle, song, dance and the Gaelic language are offered over a backdrop of community events, including cèilidhs, concerts and guided walks. Tutors from Cape Breton in Canada are an important part of the summer school, and represent the reunion of the global Gaelic Diaspora. Classes run from 9am – 3:30pm Monday to Friday and are followed a range of evening events.

Price: £250 (full-price); £175 (Western Isles-rate); £10 drop-in rate per class (Western Isles).

This specialised, intensive language and music Summer course is for musicians preparing for exams, auditions and competitions with some of the world’s best teachers.

The course is for adults and unaccompanied teenagers from the age of 12 as well as accompanied children with a lower age limit of five. Students can choose to attend just the main course (two weeks) or both the pre-course and the main course (three weeks):

  • Pre-course (20 places): 7-12 July 2018 (arrival on 6 July)
  • Main course (100 places): 13-25 July 2018 (arrival on 12 July afternoon and departure on 26 July morning)

The pre-course is designed for students who need either intensive linguistic tuition or who want to benefit from extra tuition from our teachers present on the pre-course or both. Students who attend the pre-course then go on to the main course. The main course features instrumental and voice tuition, masterclasses, composition, conducting, and jazz. It also offers students the opportunity to improve language skills, working either in small groups or one-to-one with our language tutors.

There are two kinds of participants:

  • Non-residential: local students or participants who choose to live out in hotels, B&B etc, taking two main meals from Sundays to Fridays
  • Residential: those who want full board and take all their meals at Llandovery College for the duration of the course
